NOTE FROM PEGGY: I think probably Mike and Fred Singer ARE correct that global warming isn't being caused by man, but that the sun is actually getting hotter.  Revelation 16:8-9 says this about the sun: "The fourth angel poured out his bowl upon the sun, and it was given to it to scorch men with fire. Men were scorched with fierce heat; and they blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues, and they did not repent so as to give Him glory."  And if we are as close to the Rapture/ Tribulation as I think we are, it stands to reason that the sun is beginning to heat up, and that our ozone layers are being depleted.

For at least the second time I read it suggested this morning that global warming isn't being caused by man as Al Gore and assorted others want us to believe but the sun itself that is heating up our world. I don't know for sure which is the case or even if either is completely true quite frankly, but there is Luke 21:25 to consider.

Luke 21:25: And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

A CNS News article entitled "Sun, Not Man, Main Cause of Climate Change, New Study Says" quotes an author of the study, S. Fred Singer of the University of Virginia, as saying the following, in part:

• We have to remember that the climate has always been changing ever since we have records, and we have geologic records going back millions and millions of years. We know that there have been huge climate changes on the earth long before human beings actually came into existence.

• "We are fairly sure that what's causing the warming are changes in the sun. These are very subtle changes that are very difficult to observe. The sun is really a quite variable star."

For the record, I have to roll my eyes in relation to Singer's first statement listed above detailing the "millions and millions of years" of evidence that exists on the earth concerning climate change that took place "long before human beings actually came into existence" but I wholly believe that evidence of enough age for us to see that periods of warming on the earth took place in the past do, in all likelihood, exist that scientists can clearly see. If such evidence exists, theories of why global warming is presently taking place may need to be re-examined.

What if all the theories of global warming being caused by mankind's creation of greenhouse gases is only partly correct? What if the truth is our sun is acting up lately and is either largely responsible or completely the cause of our planet warming up lately as S. Fred Singer of the University of Virginia seems to suspect could be the case? That scenario would fall right in line with Luke 21:25, wouldn't it? Something for us to consider in light of the big picture we see unfolding in the world around us through the lens of Bible prophecy.
