The
Story of 2006?

Many of you have read of Iran's outrageous comments concerning Israel the last
month. Be assured that this is Iran on a collision course with the entire West,
not just Israel. As a White House spokesman said on "World Net Daily,"
"This kind of talk from Iran's new president Ahmadinejad is
confidence-destroying. It undermines all the diplomatic efforts to find a
mutually satisfactory compromise on serious issues. The Western world should
take note."
What exactly has Ahmaninejad said about Israel which all of the West should
note? He has stated that Israel should be wiped off the map, or move to Europe,
or Antarctica, that she is a tumor, that the Holocaust is a myth, and that the
Zionist days are about over. That is literally taunting and tempting Israel to
strike her, and that is likely going to happen.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has determined that Iran will be
fully nuclear-equipped by March. That is the point of no return so to speak, and
the world cannot tolerate a nuclear Iran. According to the "London Sunday
Times," Israeli intelligence has identified a number of Iranian uranium
enrichment sites even unknown to the IAEA.
Thus Israel's Prime Minister Sharon has ordered his defense forces to plan for a
pre-emptive strike on Iran's nuclear weapons facilities by the end of March.
Israel will use both air and ground forces in the hope of stalling Iran's
nuclear program many years as she did with Iraq and the Osirek reactor in1981.
America has sold Israel bunker-busting bombs to go through concrete or
underground where some reactors are. With America bogged down in Iraq it is
unlikely we will do anything more than aid Israel in the attempt to stop what
many call the most evil nation in the world from going nuclear. Even with the
pre-emptive plans "on the table," it has not quieted the rhetoric Iran
has against Israel. And the March date set by Sharon may be a bluff when, in
fact, they could carry out the plan tomorrow.
Russia is aiding Iran's nuclear ambitions in keeping with the predicted scenario
in Ezekiel 38 - 39. We can't be sure when Russia, Iran, and other allies will
invade Israel to "seize a spoil" as it says in that passage. Since she
will be dwelling securely, it is likely in the Tribulation with antichrist
acting as her phony protector. Many believe it is but a part of the Battle of
Armageddon. Other scholars place it early in the Tribulation as a separate event
from Armageddon. Many nations join them, but no one, not even America, seems to
come to Israel's rescue other than God. This becomes a spiritual turning point
for Israel who comes out very victorious over such bitter and capable foes.
I have had many radio guests and conference speakers who felt Iran would be
"the story of 2005." It now appears it could be the story of 2006.
Many fear such a confrontation will set the entire Middle East aflame but what
would you do if you were tiny Israel and a behemoth, wicked nation were spouting
such outrageous comments as above-mentioned?
When and if Israel does put an end to Iran's nuclear hopes, you can bet she will
still be chastised by the world (Zechariah 12). She got no credit for putting a
halt to Saddam's efforts in 1981.
Stay tuned. The new year promises many scenarios which will only be understood
if one knows their Bible. It also helps to understand Bible prophecy and the
correct interpretation of eschatology, not the false teachings abounding today.
