• Iran storm kills five, including three babies-radio
  Three babies choked to death when a sand storm swept through an Iranian desert city on Friday night, state radio and a senior official said on Saturday. Two other people also died when winds of 130 km (80 miles) per hour bore down on Bam in southeastern Iran, the city's governor told the radio. Bam was hit by a major earth quake that killed 31,000 people in 2003.

  Iran's army commander has warned the United States and other Western powers not to make any "stupid move" over Tehran's nuclear work, and suggested they would be surprised by Iran's military response if they attacke

  The Israel and U.S. delegations walked out of the United Nations' disarmament forum in Geneva, Switzerland yesterday after Iran said Israel was the "real source of nuclear danger in the Middle East" and had a "dark record of crimes." Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki told the Conference on Disarmament that Israel's nuclear weapons posed a "uniquely grave threat to regional and international peace and security" requiring action by the international community.

  What makes Iran so great a threat? Iran is a very big country—in size, population, and natural resources, mainly oil and gas, which this year will bring in $60 billion.
