Does the Third Temple Have to be Rebuilt Before the Final 3.5 Years of the Trib?

Susan, 2/18

I am only a novice at all this, however, I do believe in a pre-tribulation rapture.  What do I say to people who insist that the temple on the Mount must first be re-built beforehand.  Where does it say this?  I thought that was in relation to "the second coming" which in my mind is a different event than the rapture?

Any guidance would be appreciated.

The answer to your question is… the Bible DOESN’T say it needs to be rebuilt.  All we are told is that in the midst of the tribulation (3.5 years into it), the AC will STOP the sacrifice and oblations and set himself up in the temple as god.  My guess is that after we are gone, part of the “peace” deal will be that Israel can rebuild their temple, and that they will make concessions to the “Palestinians” and the rest of the Arab world, and all will be happy for a little while…

More questions on temple rebuilding

Thanks Peggy for your answer, however, I am presently involved in a debate surrounding this.  Can anybody give me SCRIPTURAL reference that the temple does NOT need to be rebuilt before the rapture of the Church?

Or does this solely depend on whether one's view is pre-trib, mid-trib or end-trib rapture?

Thanks all.  By the way - this site is now the first one I go to each day.  Thank you all for such wonderful posts of encouragement and also the latest news.

Hi again, Susan!

My first sentence to you yesterday said:

The answer to your question is… the Bible DOESN’T say it needs to be rebuilt.

I needed to have clarified that to say:

The answer to your question is… the Bible DOESN’T say it needs to be rebuilt… before the Rapture.

It occurred to me when I was rereading it this morning, that it may have sounded like I was saying the Bible didn’t say it need to be rebuilt at ALL, and that’s inaccurate.  The Bible doesn’t use those words exactly, but we know it has to be rebuilt in order for the sacrifices and oblations to be stopped by the AC, meaning he has to already have let them rebuild it, and start their OT style of temple worship again.

You now how you sometimes go to a URL then it leads you on to something else that catches your attention and so on.
This happened to me tonight when I went to a URL post on the 5 doves site.  On the site there was an advertisement for Alex Jones (the guy who is the whistle blower on the NWO) - then there was a link to another site through his forum.
This claims to be an "insider" from the absolute top of the illuminati (even greater than the illuminati) speaking to us and answering some questions.  The person who posted it said there was no "hesitance" between the answers and the questions.  Whoever wrote it certainly sounds sane and has the mind of a philosopher.  BUT - he/she seems to say we are now living in Hell.  He/she also says that Jesus of Nazareth was not the "true Christ" but merely a human obeying orders from "higher up".
Dear doves - I would like as many of you as possible to read this document - it's around 40 pages long but only took me around an hour to read.  It scared the living daylights out of me because I started wondering "what if.......".  For 40 years I have lived with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and this one document is the ONLY thing that has put questions in my mind.  I HATE it and that which you hate has control over you!!
Right now I am in tears at the thought that "it all may be a lie - a great deception".
Here is the URL
If you are of an overly sensitive nature maybe best not to read.

Hi again, sister Susan!

And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. (Daniel 9:27)

OK, the above Scripture is the one I was referring to.  And yes, it does depend on your Rapture viewpoint.  Most of us on the Doves are pre-Trib Rapture believers, and here are my major reasons for believing that to be true:

Now, for an explanation of the Scripture above.  By “one week”, Daniel means one week of years, or 7 years, which is the length of the Tribulation, which also has Scriptures to back that up.  The Trib is to finish where He left off with the Jews, and to pull out His remnant of believers in His Son:

Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people [Father Yahweh is speaking to Daniel here, and Daniel is a Jew, therefore his “people” are the Jews] and upon thy holy city [Jerusalem], to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. (Daniel 9:24)

69 of those 70 “weeks” (years actually) ended with the death and resurrection of our Savior, with one 7-year period left for Him to finish His work with the Jews, as mentioned in Daniel 9:24 above.

Now, go back to Daniel 9:27 where it states, “and in the MIDST of the “week”…”, meaning that 3½ years into the 7-year Tribulation, the Antichrist will cause the sacrifice and oblation (worship) to cease.  So in order for him to stop the sacrifice and oblation, there will have to already have been a temple built to sacrifice and worship IN.

Hopefully this will help you.  If you have any more questions, feel free to write me at, which I can access from either work OR home.
