Pictures of Rusty & Kayla (our "kids")

Rusty & Kayla are Samoyeds (click HERE to read about Samoyeds).  They are now 4 years old (as of December 2005).  We adopted them from Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary in Houston, TX (see first photo of Kayla at 3 months old, being held by a Noah's Ark worker), one year apart, and found out that they were from the SAME litter!!!  Enjoy the photos!

Samoyeds are bred down from Arctic wolves; as a result of their wolf nature, they love to howl (otherwise known as "singing"). In fact, Richard & I perform "family howls" with them as a sign of togetherness (like a pack). The last two photos below are them howling. Samoyeds are highly intelligent, highly affectionate, LOVE their family, and are GREAT protectors of their family! Rusty is one of the happiest, sweetest, smiliest dogs I've ever known; and Kayla is the smartest, toughest, and funniest of dogs I've ever known... not to mention a brat <grins>!
