God Needed a Brand New Star

This poem is dedicated to the memory of Emma Grace, a little 8 month old angel!

You asked me why God took Emma home;
the answer didn't lie far.
You see, she was taken there because
God needed a brand new star!

God tells us the righteous will shine
like the sun in His kingdom on high.
Emma's shining bright, we will be soon,
for our redemption draweth nigh!

God says we're just a vapor,
here today, then we fade away.
But His love, strength and comfort
will be with us all our days.

When life seems bleak, it's all because
we're fighting a spiritual war.
But the Lord is just a prayer away,
holding on to His brand new star!
