God's Promises & Answers for Your Life

Chapter 21

What to Do When You Feel Discouraged

So the ransomed of the Lord will return and come with joyful shouting to Zion, and everlasting joy will be on their heads.  They will obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.

Isaiah 51:11

In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ; and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls.

1 Peter 1:6-9

Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.

John 14:1

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch forth Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me.

Psalm 138:7

The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread?  When evildoers came upon me to devour my flesh, my adversaries and my enemies, they stumbled and fell.  Though a host encamp against me, my heart will not fear; though war arise against me, in spite of this I shall be confident.

Psalm 27:1-3
