Ice Photos
Below are photos of my friend, Annie's, front yard pond. They are awesome! Brrrrrrr!!! Here's what Annie had to say about the photos:
That is my pond in the front yard that I put in myself a couple of years ago. We are experiencing cold weather and have a snow warning... wind chill -20ºC and up to 15-25 cm of snow. I went out this morning and took the pictures as it was a little warmer today and some of it has melted. Last time I had a pond that froze was in the late 90's. December in Victoria, Vancouver Island BC Canada.
I noticed where the ball is in the pond that it had produced horns...looks like the shape of a steer head in the desert sands.
Just found it interesting.. it formed from a blade of the plant above running down to the ball and as the water dripped during the day it formed this shape.
