The 'Third Templars'  <- FEATURE!!!
It's a dilemma for mainstream Israelis: How to resist capitulating to Arab violence on the Temple Mount - driven by irrational fears of Zionist plots against it - while not encouraging marginal Jewish groups who feverishly yearn to make the Arabs' worst nightmares come true? Israel's "Third Templars" don't seem to care about the consequences of stoking an apocalyptic religious war with Islamic civilization - 56 countries, 1.57 billion faithful, most of them currently on the sidelines of the Arab-Israel conflict. Jewish tradition holds that the Mount, site of Solomon's Temple (and the Ark of the Covenant) and later the Temple built by the returnees from the Babylonian exile, retains an intrinsic holiness. Disagreements among Torah authorities over which, if any, sections of the Temple plateau may be traversed without treading on the sacred ground of the Holy of Holies date back centuries.

To Obey Obama Or God? The Rise Of Israel's Military Rabbis
All students at the seminary choose to serve in Israel's combat units while statistics suggest less ideologically-driven Israelis are avoiding them. This has made headline news in Israel. The 19-year-olds I spoke to at the seminary told me religious soldiers like them can make the army behave better and become "more moral". They believe it is their religious duty to protect the citizens of Israel, the Jewish state. The Lord commands it, they said. The students' seminary is built in a Jewish settlement in the occupied West Bank. If President Barack Obama gets his way, Israel will eventually evacuate most settlements. They are illegal under international law and Palestinians claim the territory as part of their future state. But for the religious soldiers the West Bank is part of land, given to the Jews by God. Gal Einav thinks many soldiers will refuse to close settlements down. The settlement issue could well tear the army apart, he told me, adding that most of his officers are settlers these days. "If it comes to a clash between political orders from Israel's government and a contradictory message from the rabbis, settlers and religious right-wing soldiers will follow the rabbis," he said.

European Jewish Congress hails new EU regulation for 'shechita' or Jewish animal slaughter <- As they unknowingly prepare for temple sacrifices to resume ("And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate.")
The new regulation recognises the validity of ?shechita? or Jewish animal slaughter according to religious methods and requires that kosher meat can be traded and sold freely in every EU member state.

Like many other soldiers who took part in the Gaza operation, Omer, 20, occasionally took a few moments to pray, but he did not pray to the Lord of Israel. Omer considers himself pagan, and has sworn allegiance to three ancient gods. During combat, he says they appeared before him, giving him strength during the most arduous moments

Once Every 28 Years: Blessing on the Sun
Jewish Law stipulates that a special blessing is to be recited when we see the sun at the same place, on the same day of the week, and the same time of day as when it was created.  The first chapter in Genesis, which tells the story of Creation, tells us that the sun was created on a Wednesday.  Precisely one solar year, or 365.25 days (52 weeks and 1.25 days) later, the sun was in the same place – but not on the same day of the week, nor at the same time of day; it was rather but rather a quarter of a day later.

Fighters' Jewish Spirit Returns
And what did I discover down there in southern Israel? My brothers! The Golanchiks (Golani Brigade soldiers), about to go out to war, want to hold on to the Rock of Israel! There wasn’t a soldier there who didn’t equip himself with a Tehillim in his pocket or combat vest - but the big surprise we had was when we gave out tzitzit [four-cornered shirt with the required ritual fringes attached]. Usually only the yeshiva guys take them, but this time, every soldier there seemed to want one!

Master of War <- AMEN!!!
Israel's successes, however, come from the Living G-d. The Jewish soldier must make the necessary preparations and not rely on miracles; yet, he must know that salvation comes from G-d. Thus, we find in the Torah that "The L-rd is a Man of War." (Exodus, 15:3)

The New Jew
There seems to be a swell in the interest of Israelis in Judaism. People talk about Bible and religion like never before, and there are abundant indications for it. For the unfamiliar reader, it needs to be clarified that for two centuries, Jews don't like their religion for the same reasons Christians grew to dislike their religion. However, within the last 10 or 15 years, Israelis have begun to ask, "If our secular values are so marvelous, how is it that crime and corruption have become so rampant?"

Oh God
Israel is a secular state that causes people to think of Israelis as atheists. However, as a recent poll has shown, this is not the case. The poll was conducted in October by Ynet – the most popular Israeli internet newspaper. According to Ynet,* over 40,000 people answered several questions regarding God, religion and Israel.

When renowned novelist David Grossman spoke at the annual commemoration of former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin’s assassination, much of the reaction to his harsh criticism of the government focused on the fact that he is a far left-winger. Grossman’s son Uri died in the Lebanon War last summer, further fueling his words. But the reaction to his strong words demonstrated how true they were: The political debate in Israel is shallow and simplistic.

Will The Real Moshiach Please Stand Up
Recently there has been a wave of excitement rushing throughout Israel, and across the Internet to the far parts of the western world regarding a revelation from Israel's oldest and most revered Kabalistic Rabbi Yitzakh Kaduri ( Rabbi Kaduri Passed Away on January 28th, 2006).  The revelation is basically this. Before he died he said that he had recently met the Messiah. He told his disciples that he would leave a written note with the mystery code of the identity of the Messiah written out.  And he had them promise that this note was not to be opened until one year after his death.
