ISRAEL HAPPENINGS

Israeli-U.S. Relationship

And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. And to the woman were given two wings of a GREAT EAGLE, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. (Revelation 12:13-14)

I don't know for sure that the above verse is speaking of America (the "eagle") flying (two wings of an airplane) Israel to their place of safety, but that's what Richard believes, and since no one else knows for certain, and since I like that idea, that's what I'm sticking with... ha!  Peggy

Israel joins US for defence drill
Israel and the US are due to begin a two-week military defence exercise, thought to be the largest of its kind in Israel's history. The exercise will focus on providing a joint defence against a simulated co-ordinated missile attack on Israel.

Obama 'loathes' Israel
A Messianic Jewish leader and Israel supporter is outraged that an Obama website recently published an article comparing Israelis to Nazis...if Falk's comments indeed reflect the sentiments of the president, the United States is in for a judgment beyond which it has ever known.

Israel, US To Simulate Response To War
Israel and the United States, amid growing tensions with Iran, will simulate interoperability between missile defense systems this week during the biennial Juniper Cobra missile defense exercise. The exercise, set to simulate a response in the event of war between Israel, the Islamic republic, Syria and Hizbullah, will begin on Monday and end on Friday. More than 1,000 American troops from the European Command in Stuttgart, Germany have deployed in Israel for the exercise - mostly in the Negev - in addition to some 15 missile ships, some of them carrying the Aegis ballistic missile defense system. Adm. Mark Fitzgerald, commander of the US Navy's Sixth Fleet, will oversee the exercise alongside senior officers from EUCOM and the US Missile Defense Agency. On the Israeli side, the commander of the exercise will be the new head of the Israel Air Force's Air Defense Division, Brig.-Gen. Doron Gavish.

Called Juniper Cobra, the exercise will include the Arrow missile defense system as well as three American systems - the THAAD, Aegis and PAC3 - that will all be deployed in Israel for the duration of the exercise.

Obama promised Jewish homes to Palestinians?
President Obama is "fed up" with Israel while his administration has given the Palestinians guarantees they will eventually take over Jewish homes and buildings throughout most of the West Bank, a top Palestinian Authority official claimed to WND. "We heard from the U.S. that no matter what Israel is building in the West Bank, it will not affect a final status agreement to create a Palestinian state," said the PA official, who spoke on condition his name be withheld.

The Wall Street Journal: Obama Is Pushing Israel Toward War
Events are fast pushing Israel toward a pre-emptive military strike on Iran's nuclear facilities, probably by next spring. That strike could well fail. Or it could succeed at the price of oil at $300 a barrel, a Middle East war, and American servicemen caught in between. So why is the Obama administration doing everything it can to speed the war process along? At July's G-8 summit in Italy, Iran was given a September deadline to start negotiations over its nuclear programs. Last week, Iran gave its answer: No. Instead, what Tehran offered was a five-page document that was the diplomatic equivalent of a giant kiss-off. It begins by lamenting the "ungodly ways of thinking prevailing in global relations" and proceeds to offer comprehensive talks on a variety of subjects: democracy, human rights, disarmament, terrorism, "respect for the rights of nations," and other areas where Iran is a paragon. Conspicuously absent from the document is any mention of Iran's nuclear program, now at the so-called breakout point, which both Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his boss Ali Khamenei insist is not up for discussion.

Obama Sides With Enemies Of Israel
A political activist and former presidential candidate is calling President Obama to task for arguing the Palestinian case against Israel on the question of new Israeli settlements in the West Bank. Israel recently defied U.S. pressure to halt construction in its West Bank settlements by announcing it intends to construct about 500 new apartments there. But The Associated Press has reported that while the Israeli government announced its plans to build the new units, it is also outlining the idea of a subsequent partial freeze in settlement construction -- an apparent attempt by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to balance demands from both his conservative base and the Obama administration, which has called on Israel to halt all settlement construction. In taking this action, Netanyahu risks angering both sides. The White House immediately criticized the new building as detrimental to achieving Mideast peace, while members of the prime minister's Likud Party opposed limiting settlement construction at all.

Welcome To OBAMASTINE- New Signs Adorn Palestine!
Relentlessly, the Obama administration pushes for a new Arab State called Palestine. Another indication is the recent implementation of a three-year $20 Million U.S. aid project intended to improve services in the Palestinian occupied West Bank. This American backed campaign earmarks $175 thousand for new roadside signs written only in Arabic and English. Palestinians long ago eliminated Israel from their children’s textbooks and classroom maps, and now with American approval they intend to remove Israel from their road signs as well. These new markers, which may as well be written in Greek for Hebrew speaking Jews, evidence yet another forced attempt by the Obama administration to force Israel to forfeit land for peace in the Middle East. Recent polls suggest that Israelis are fed up with American meddling in their national affairs. Among Israeli Jews, Obama runs neck and neck with Iran’s president Ahmadinejad in unpopularity. The Jerusalem post reported on August 27, 2009 that only 4% of Israeli Jews believe President Obama is pro-Israel. This was down from 31% in a similar poll conducted on May 17, 2009. His unprecedented decline in popularity among Israeli Jews suggests a sentiment of American betrayal.

Poll shows surge of support for Israel in US

Israelis Sour On Rahm Emanuel
As the Obama administration presses Israel to cease settlement expansion as part of a renewed push for a Middle East peace deal—a course of action that many Israelis have interpreted as evidence of the president’s favoritism towards Palestinians—Israelis have increasingly focused their disappointment not on Obama, but rather on his chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel. An observant Jew with deep ties to Israel, Emanuel is viewed as something of a native son, his rise through the ranks of American politics celebrated by Israelis who reveled in details such as his childhood summers spent in Israel and his volunteer stint during the first Gulf War in an Israeli military program for civilians.

Jewish Telegraphic Agency Looks At Rahm As Antichrist
In a front page feature today on how actors are recruited into realtime training exercises in and around DC, Blumenfeld recounts the following. ("Gideon Caine" is the creation of Barry Spodak, a psychotherapist who has helped run these role-playing exercises since after the attempt on Ronald Reagan's life in 1981.) In one session, two trainees visit Caine at his mock home. As they sit down, Caine refuses to talk to, or look at, the Hispanic female trainee. He calls the president a "mud person," puppeteered by the "spawn of Satan." The trainees assume the spawn of Satan is Vice President Biden. "Wrong!" snaps Spodak, playing Caine. "In Hebrew, do you know what the word 'Rahm' means?" "No, sir, I sure don't," says trainee Vincent Seymour. "'Rahm' means exalted. You know what 'Emanuel' means?" The trainees stare. "The anointed lord. Rahm Emanuel -- the exalted, awaited lord. He is the Antichrist himself!"

Huckabee: Try Telling People They Can't Live in Queens

US Must Stand by Israel in Face of War
The inescapable truth is that Israel is America’s first line of defense in the larger, longer-lasting war with radical Islam. If the U.S. allows Israel to be destroyed, no nation will trust America enough as an ally to risk standing between it and annihilation by radical, nuclear Islam.

Republicans 'troubled' by US policy on Israel <- So are true Christians!!!
The Obama administration's policy on Israel is misguided, puts too much emphasis on the issue of settlements and ignores the bigger threat of a nuclear-armed Iran, a U.S. delegation of Republican congressmen visiting Israel said Thursday. Led by minority whip Eric Cantor from Virginia, the only Jewish Republican in Congress, the delegation of 25 Republicans say their weeklong mission to Israel is designed to show solidarity with the Jewish state and promote Mideast peace. A group of Democratic congressmen are expected to visit next week.

'Say 'No' to US settlement pressure'
Calling on Israel to simply say "no" to US pressure to freeze settlement activity and to divide the capital, close to a thousand people rallied outside Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's Jerusalem home Monday evening. "People tell us that it is impossible to stand up against American pressure; there is no bigger lie," yelled out Dani Dayan, who heads the Council of Jewish Communities of Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip, which helped to organize the event. It was timed to coincide with US envoy George Mitchell's visit to Israel.

Clinton stirs Israeli fears US will accept nuclear Iran
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Wednesday stirred Israeli fears that Washington would accept a nuclear armed Iran when she raised the idea of a US "defence umbrella" for Gulf allies. However, Clinton, during a visit to Thailand for an Asian security conference, said later that she was not announcing a new policy and simply wanted to turn Iran away from pursuing a nuclear weapon. Clinton told Thai television in Bangkok that President Barack Obama's administration was still open to engage Iran in talks about its nuclear programme but warned that Tehran would not be safer if it obtains a bomb.

Israel rejects US call to halt Jerusalem project
Israel on Sunday rejected a U.S. demand to suspend a planned housing project in east Jerusalem, threatening to further complicate an unusually tense standoff with its strongest ally over settlement construction. US, Israel settlement deal emerging
Israel and the US are moving toward a compromise solution on the settlement issue that might allow both sides to claim "victory," The Jerusalem Post has learned. According to senior government officials, under this type of solution, Israel would declare a moratorium of a few months on the settlement issue, possibly half a year, while the US would give Israel a green light to complete a still-to-be-determined number of housing units in the settlements that are in advanced stages of construction.

Why Perilous Times Are Now in Overdrive
You may think that headline is a strong statement so let me defend it. We have now entered the most serious "perilous times" (II Timothy 3:1) in history. President Obama's speech in Cairo was a total surrender to Islam and a drastic turn against one of our best allies, Israel.

Exclusive: Bad Moon Rising: The End of Israel
Concerning Israel, Mr. Obama has demanded the stop of the expansion of Jewish territories into the areas it re-acquired during the Six-Day War. There are now 128 Jewish communities in these areas, with a population of almost 300,000 Jews. The unprecedented demand includes the surrender of the Old City of Jerusalem to the Muslim Arabs so that it can become the capital of the new Palestinian State. The Old City contains the Temple Mount, the holiest place in the world to the Jewish people, and the Via Dolorosa, the path that Jesus walked on His way to crucifixion along with the Holy Sepulcher - - the place where He was buried.
