Javier Solana
Jim Bramlett (12/5/04)
Dear friends:
Does this name make spiritual chills go up and down your spiritual spine -- Javier
Solana?
Javier Solana is a 62-year-old Spaniard who has acquired great influence in the
European Union. He is apparently brilliant, has a doctorate in physics,
and was a Fulbright scholar. He is a member of the Spanish Socialist
party, and is a member of the Spanish chapter of the Club of Rome.
His "career path" has been intriguing, to say the least. He was
NATO Secretary General and chairman of the North Atlantic Council --
NATO's highest decision-making body comprising high representatives of the 16
member countries.
Solana seems to have an almost magical (supernatural?) ability to negotiate and
bring parties together in complex and hotly contested situations. For
examples (from http://www.raptureready.us/solana.htm):
Solana, under a mandate from NATO's 16 nations, negotiated the Founding Act with the Russian Federation which was signed in Paris in May 1997 and which is establishing a new partnership of cooperation and consultation with Russia.
Under a similar, separate, mandate Dr Solana also negotiated a new relationship with Ukraine culminating in the signing of the Ukraine-NATO Charter on a Distinctive Partnership in July of 1997.
During his term in office, the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council, bringing together the 16 NATO nations and 28 Partner countries was set up in Sintra, Portugal, in May, 1997. The EAPC provides a political roof for consultations and cooperation on a wide variety of security-related issues among the 44 and for Partnership for Peace activities.
He presided over the NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government held in Madrid in July 1997 when the Allies invited Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland to begin talks to join the Alliance.
He is presently head of
the European Union foreign affairs, with the official title of "High
Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy for the European
Union." This is an extremely strategic position. He is
probably the most powerful man in the EU -- and maybe the world.
It's strange, but when I first saw his name several years ago, even before
it became prominent, it gave me the willies. The hair on the back of my
neck almost stood up. I don't know why. I do not claim it was some
special spiritual discernment -- but it may have been. It is sort of like
when way back in the 1980s I saw Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu on television, also
before he was prominent, and I immediately sensed that God's hand was on him for
a key end-time role, and that is still possible.
Now, it's possible that old Javier is a just a Spanish good 'ol boy with a good
resume. Or, it's possible that he is emerging as a key end-time figure --
or maybe even THE key end-time figure.
According to former NATO military chief Gen. Wesley Clark, Solana's rule of
thumb has been: "Make no enemies. Then never ask a question to which you do
not know or do not like the answer." Solana has been careful with
whom to make enemies.
Now I read that he has been negotiating with the terrorist organization, Hamas,
although denied. The timing is interesting that Hamas recently said that
it is willing to recognize Israel and negotiate. The Web site www.fulfilledprophecy.com
(which has a lot of info on Solana) says (as forwarded to me by an alert
reader):
Solana appears to be bringing all his pieces together. From the former
Soviet Ukraine to the former American-controlled Middle East peace process, this
little known European diplomat is performing wonders for his revived Roman
Empire. Now, even Hamas appears to be falling under this man's spell.
How does he do what others can't -- like the recent deal with Iran? If you
recall, the EU's so-called "big three" -- France, Germany and Britain
--ended up having to ask Solana for help. Within weeks, a deal with Iran
was made. Again, how does he do it? What is he promising people? These are
good questions to be asking. For example, how did Solana, as then
Secretary General of NATO, talk Russia into going along with NATO's eastward
expansion in the first place? Does anyone know? Perhaps, now readers
will understand why I think Solana could pull off an agreement in the Middle
East too. And, in fact, he's already got his plan in the works -- his new
European Neighborhood Policy. It will be a covenant with many. It
will be between the 25 EU members states and 17 non-member states -- including
Israel and the Palestinian Authority. It will be a seven-year agreement
beginning January 1, 2007. It will be an agreement that will be subject
to a mid-term review -- in two, and again in three, years.
Comment: I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the preceding statement,
and I have no confirmation that there is a "seven-year covenant" in
the making, but such a possibility is interesting and will be worth watching.
And so will Javier Solana.
Daniel 9:27 says, "He (presumably the antichrist) shall confirm
the covenant with many for one week... (seven years)." Hmmmm.
If -- and I say IF -- Daniel's seven-year covenant begins on January 1, 2007,
the rapture could still be any day before then. Maybe tomorrow!
