The Scriptures and
New American Standard
I absolutely DETEST how Father Yahweh's and Yahshua's names were removed from practically all Bibles (can you imagine the Moslems leaving Allah and Mohammed out of their Koran???), so I decided to share Scriptures with you both from The Scriptures version (direct Hebrew to English, restored names version), as well as the New American Standard Version (NASB). The Scriptures verses are in BLACK, and the NASB version is immediately below each verse in BLUE. Now you will know exactly Who is being talked about or talked to, or Who is doing the talking. Words highlighted in cyan are things I want to remember. Enjoy, and read your Scripture DAILY! Footnotes are from The Scriptures version.
Yahweh's Name left out of this chapter in most versions: 8 times in 21 verses!!!
See my notes by verses 2 and 10 below.
The Nations Will Be Judged
1 “For look, in those days and at that time, when I turn back the captivity of Yehuḏah and Yerushalayim,
"For behold, in those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem,
2 then I shall gather all gentiles, and bring them down to the Valley of Yehoshaphat. And I shall enter into judgment with them there for My people, My inheritance Yisra’ĕl, whom they have scattered among the gentiles, and they have divided up My land.
I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land.
Notice Who the land of Israel belongs to... along with the rest of the land that He gave them centuries ago??? It's HIS land they are trying to divide up!
3 “And they have cast lots for My people, and have given a young man for a whore, and sold a girl for wine, and drank it.
"They have also cast lots for My people, traded a boy for a harlot and sold a girl for wine that they may drink.
4 “And also, what are you to Me, O Tsor and Tsiḏon, and all the coasts of Philistia? Are you repaying Me? And if you are repaying Me, I would swiftly and speedily return your reward on your own head.
"Moreover, what are you to Me, O Tyre, Sidon and all the regions of Philistia? Are you rendering Me a recompense? But if you do recompense Me, swiftly and speedily I will return your recompense on your head.
5 “For you have taken My silver and My gold, and brought My treasures into your temples,
"Since you have taken My silver and My gold, brought My precious treasures to your temples,
6 and the people of Yehuḏah and the people of Yerushalayim you have sold to the sons of Yawan, to remove them far from their borders.
and sold the sons of Judah and Jerusalem to the Greeks in order to remove them far from their territory,
7 “See, I am stirring them up out of the place to which you have sold them, and I shall return on your own head what you have done,
behold, I am going to arouse them from the place where you have sold them, and return your recompense on your head.
8 and shall sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the people of Yehuḏah, and they shall sell them to the Sheḇaites, to a nation far off. For has spoken.”
"Also I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the sons of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans, to a distant nation," for the LORD has spoken.
9 Proclaim this among the gentiles, “Prepare for battle! Wake up the mighty men, let all the men of battle draw near, let them come up.
Proclaim this among the nations: prepare a war; rouse the mighty men! Let all the soldiers draw near, let them come up!
10 “Beat your ploughshares into swords and your pruning-hooks into spears, let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’ ”
Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears; let the weak say, "I am a mighty man."
Remember during the Millennium, it will be the opposite... then they will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks.
11 Hasten and come, all you gentiles, and gather together all around. O , let Your mighty men come down here.
Hasten and come, all you surrounding nations, and gather yourselves there; bring down, O LORD, Your mighty ones.
12 “Let the gentiles be aroused, and come up to the Valley of Yehoshaphat. For there I shall sit to judge all the gentiles on every side.
Let the nations be aroused and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat, for there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations.
13 “Put in the sickle, for the harvest has grown ripe. Come, go down, for the winepress is filled, the vats overflow, for their evil is great.”
Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe come, tread, for the wine press is full; the vats overflow, for their wickedness is great.
14 Crowds, crowds in the valley of decision! For the day of is near in the valley of decision.
Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
15 Sun and moon shall become dark, and stars shall withdraw their brightness.
The sun and moon grow dark and the stars lose their brightness.
16 And shall roar from Tsiyon, and give forth His voice from Yerushalayim. And the heavens and earth shall shake, but shall be a refuge for His people, and a stronghold for the children of Yisra’ĕl.
The LORD roars from Zion and utters His voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth tremble but the LORD is a refuge for His people and a stronghold to the sons of Israel.
17 “Then you shall know that I am your Elohim, dwelling in Tsiyon, My set-apart mountain. And Yerushalayim shall be set-apart, and foreigners shall not pass through her again. Footnote: See v. 21 and Isa. 24:23.
Then you will know that I am the LORD your God, dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain so Jerusalem will be holy, and strangers will pass through it no more.
Judah Will Be Blessed
18 “And it shall be in that day that the mountains drip with new wine, and the hills flow with milk. And all the streams of Yehuḏah shall be flooded with water, and a fountain flow from the House of and water the wadi Shittim.
18And in that day the mountains will drip with sweet wine, and the hills will flow with milk, and all the brooks of Judah will flow with water; and a spring will go out from the house of the LORD to water the valley of Shittim.
19 “Mitsrayim shall become a ruin, and Eḏom a ruin, a wilderness, because of violence done to the people of Yehuḏah, whose innocent blood they shed in their land.
Egypt will become a waste, and Edom will become a desolate wilderness, because of the violence done to the sons of Judah, in whose land they have shed innocent blood.
20 “But Yehuḏah shall dwell forever, and Yerushalayim to all generations.
But Judah will be inhabited forever and Jerusalem for all generations.
21 “And I shall avenge their blood, which I have not avenged. And shall be dwelling in Tsiyon!”
And I will avenge their blood which I have not avenged, for the LORD dwells in Zion.
