Parable of the Sower
(Matthew 13:18-23)

When your seed's been sown beside the road,
it could get snatched away.
And you'll wonder where on earth it went...
you HAD it yesterday!

[These are folks without God's Spirit,
who won't "get" His Word when they hear it.]

When your seed's been sown on a rocky place,
it's received with joy at first.
But as soon as affliction comes your way,
things go from bad to worse.

[These are folks who are God’s for a while,
but when troubles come, He’s “not their style”.]

When your seed’s been sown among the thorns,
you're “almost” His, but not quite.
The things of the world mean more to you;
He’s not fixed in your sights.

[This is a man whose “fruits” turn bad.
He’s “almost Christian”, how very sad!]

But when your seed’s been sown on good soil,
the Spirit lives in you.
And the fruits of the Spirit are evident
in all you say and do.

[This is the man who’s TRULY won,
because he belongs to God’s Holy Son!]
