Old El Paso Nachos

1 (7½-oz.) box tortilla chips

1 (16-oz.) can refried beans

1 (16-oz.) jar salsa, drained

2 cups shredded Cheddar

Jalapeño slices

Preheat broiler.  Place half of the tortilla chips on baking sheet, overlapping edges; set aside.  Combine beans and 1 cup salsa.  Spoon half the bean mixture evenly over chips.  Top with half the cheese and half the jalapeños.  Broil 4-5" from heat about 4 minutes or until cheese melts.  Repeat with remaining chips, bean mixture, cheese, and jalapeños.  SERVES 10-15.
