Simple Salsa Burgers

2 lbs. ground beef
1/3 cup picante sauce (mild or hot to your liking)
1/3 cup (1-1/3 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese
1 t. pepper

Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Form mixture into 6-8 patties; layer patties in some aluminum foil and refrigerate to firm them up. Broil, grill or bake to desired doneness. Makes 6-8 patties.
