Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. (James 1:17)

Chinese Fried Rice

11/3 cups cold water

11/3 cups instant white rice

2 T. butter or margarine

1 large egg

1 small onion, chopped

1 T. soy sauce

1 T. Worcestershire sauce

Shredded carrots [optional]

Sautéed chopped onions in sesame seed oil [optional]

Bring water to a boil. Add rice and remove from the heat. Cover saucepan and let steam cook for 10 to 15 minutes until tender and fluffy. You can also add butter to your steaming rice if you like. Add butter to large skillet on medium-high heat, add beaten egg and onion, and cook until eggs are done and onion is glazed, tender and crispy. Once egg is done, add cooked rice and cook for 3-5 additional minutes. Add soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce at end and flip a few times to coat. Serve hot and enjoy.
