Strawberry Apple Crisp (Pam W.'s)

1 cup all-purpose flour

¾ cup rolled oats

1 cup brown sugar

1½ t. ground cinnamon

½ cup butter, melted

4 cups peeled, cored and sliced apples

1 cup slices fresh strawberries

½ cup white sugar

1 T. cornstarch

½ cup water

½ t. vanilla extract

Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon and melted butter. Stir until crumbly. Press half of mixture into a 9" x 13" baking dish. Cover with sliced apples and strawberries. In a medium saucepan, combine white sugar, cornstarch, water and vanilla in a medium saucepan. Cook and stir for 10 minutes or until thick and clear. Pour mixture over fruit in dish. Cover fruit with remaining crumble mixture. Bake at 350ºF (175ºC) for 45 minutes or until bubbly and golden.
