...that if you confess with your mouth Yahshua as Lord and believe in your heart that Yahweh raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

60,000 Pray In Times Square! <- HalleluYAH!!!
You can see most anything at Times Square in Manhattan. But 60,000 people praying? That's an unusual site in the heart of Broadway. Yet, that's just what happened there yesterday for one hour – from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in a Christian rally called Prayer in the Square. Event organizers from Time Square Church had expected some 15,000. But their expectations were far exceeded at the third event of its kind in the last three years. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who helped the church cut through the red tape necessary to hold such an event, addressed the crowd. "It's a little strange for me to be up here," he said. "I'm a Jew. But I just celebrated Rosh Hoshana, our new year. So I guess it's appropriate for me to wish you all a happy new year." Despite the magnitude of the event, no major media covered it – even in the center of the media world on a slow news day. More than 200 churches joined with the Times Square Church in promoting the rally to pray for the city and the nation.

Belief In God Is Wired Into The Brain, Says Psychologist
Humans are programmed to believe in God because it gives them a better chance of survival, researchers claim. A study into the way children's brains develop suggests that during the process of evolution those with religious tendencies began to benefit from their beliefs - possibly by working in groups to ensure the future of their community. The findings of Bruce Hood, professor of developmental psychology at Bristol University, suggest that magical and supernatural beliefs are hardwired into our brains from birth, and that religions are therefore tapping into a powerful psychological force. His work is supported by other researchers who have found evidence linking religious feelings and experience to particular regions of the brain. They suggest people are programmed to receive a feeling of spirituality from electrical activity in these areas. The findings challenge atheists such as Richard Dawkins, the author of The God Delusion, who has long argued that religious beliefs result from poor education and childhood 'indoctrination'. Professor Hood believes it is futile to try to get people to abandon their beliefs because these come from such a 'fundamental level'. 'Our research shows children have a natural, intuitive way of reasoning that leads them to all kinds of supernatural beliefs about how the world works,' he said.

Do You Believe In Angels?
A university lecturer has criticised parents for being dismissive when their seven-year-old daughter told them that she saw an angel at her bedside every night, which she felt comforted by. Quite right, too. Perhaps she had seen an angel. Children, if they are truthful and well, should be taken seriously. They know the difference between pretend and real. Parents collude with children in treating Teddy as a person, but, though Teddy falling out of the car may be heartbreaking, the child well knows it is not the same as your sister falling out. Angels are not cuddly toys, and it is not just children who believe in them. They have become an adult craze. Gone are the merely jokey fancies, such as the angel Clarence in It's a Wonderful Life (1946) or John Travolta, heaven help us, as an angel in Michael (1996). Unjokey books like Angels in My Hair by Lorna Byrne or Angels Watching Over Me by Jacky Newcomb sell millions.

Is This The Face Of Jesus Christ? David Flynn Analyzes The Shroud
Amazing what a computer can do now days. The last image 'below' is the most fascinating. Notice the severe abrasions on the forehead and detail of the injuries to the face. I marvel at the sceptics who, without keeping up to date on the scientific studies of the shroud, denounce it as a forgery. How is it that some 14th century painter single handedly developed photography over 400 years before it was 're-invented' ? There is no pigment on the image itself, rather it seems to have been produced through degeneration of the fibers at different rates. In other words, fibers closer to the subject on the shroud have aged more than those further away. This apparently occurred instantaneously. It is as if a burst of eternity emanated from the figure within the shroud itself... exactly the type of phenomena one might expect in connection with the resurrection of Jesus Christ. That being said, we are left with only two alternatives. Either we are looking at the most sophisticated, physiologically and historically accurate hoax the world has ever seen, or we are looking at the actual face of Jesus Himself.

Churches not schools the best way to prevent child abuse
In a bold move to protect its students from abuse by cyber predators, Lee County, North Carolina school administrators have barred its teachers from communicating with students through public social networking sites and through text messages. Good for Lee County Schools. Even better is that the school system has invested $6000 to create a networking site for teachers and students that administrators can monitor for abusive activity, and immediately hand out disciplinary measures if deemed necessary.

A True Duck Story from San Antonio <- Thanks for sharing this, Shanthini!
Awwwww, how precious!  It makes me feel like us Christians going through life, trusting the Lord to take care of us... if He said jump, I would jump, even if it looked unsafe!  Then it makes me feel like we will at the Rapture... the mother duck is Yahshua, and we are His ducklings... all of us finally together and happy.  As the old Baptist Hymn, "Shall We Gather At the River", says:

Yes, we'll gather at the river,
The beautiful, the beautiful river;
Gather with the saints at the river
That flows by the throne of God...

That no man take thy crown
Although I am angry at the utter depravity now emanating from the United States and Britain, I like this story, because it reminds me that as Christians we are all striving for the crown. Not for a physical crown, nor for the type of crown that a beauty queen would wear, but for the laurel wreath that is given to those contenders who are running a race. Jesus Christ said of the Philadelphian church...

Easter Sunday: Empty
Out of that experience I began to pray, and it seemed as if God said to me, “Son, you’re looking in the wrong place. There is indeed a grave that’s empty, but it’s over on the other side of the world, outside Jerusalem, carved into a mountainside. That tomb is empty, and it’s been empty for two thousand years.”

The Passion Reconsidered
Nearly 45 years ago, medical doctor C. Truman Davis felt he had grown too callous to the agony Christ suffered at Calvary. His callousness disappeared after he researched the crucifixion and wrote an account of Christ’s Passion from a medical perspective.  I’ve  adapted his account slightly here for your consideration this Easter.

It states that "there is no excuse for acts of terrorism against Israel and Israel has the same right as every other nation to defend her citizens from such violent attacks. Religion vs. Christianity: What’s the difference?
Students and faculty often jeeringly ask us, “What is so special about Christianity, different from every religion in the world?”  To be sure, this is a very significant question; and probably one of the most significant questions that any Christian could ask themselves: what is so special about Jesus Christ?

Blessings (Personal) from Our Father (by Peggy McIlveene)
You know, friends, Father Yahweh's children don't always recognize special blessings when He gives them to us, and we don't always thank Him for them as we should.  On this page, I am going to start sharing with you some of the MANY, MANY blessings He has heaped on Richard & I.  I will start with today's (2/7/09) special blessing.  Enjoy, and remember to thank Him constantly!  Love to you in Yahshua!  Peggy.

"Security of the Believer" (AUDIO by Pastor Andrew Wommack)
SYNOPSIS:  Is there eternal security for the believer or isn’t there? Andrew answers this age old question by presenting a third view to this. You can reject your salvation, but you can’t lose it because of sin. There is no opposition between scriptures on eternal security. You can get a depth and maturity out of the word if you can harmonize apparent contradictions in scripture. This teaching will help explain this and make it clear. [I know from listening to countless audios by him in the past few weeks, that he is biblical in his teachings, and is very sincere, but no one agrees on EVERYTHING... we're all too different as individuals.  For instance, Richard & I are about as close to ONENESS as I've ever seen here on earth.  Still, I am a pre-Tribber, and he believes we'll be here during the Trib, but divinely protected (as he says, "God didn't remove Noah, Lot and their families before judging, why would He change His M.O.?"  And my stance is "He certainly did remove ENOCH before He destroyed every living creature on the earth except for Noah and his family though!").  So listen to this audio, if for no other reason than for the enjoyment factor... Pastor Wommack  is a quiet spoken man, a very uplifting brother, and a very knowledgeable brother.  Enjoy... I sure did!  Peggy]

'Isa, the Muslim Jesus' (by Mark Durie - Answering Islam)
Today we increasingly hear and read that Christianity and Islam ‘share’ Jesus, that he belongs to both religions. So also with Abraham: there is talk of the West’s ‘Abrahamic civilization’ where once people spoke of ‘Judeo-Christian civilization’. This shift of thinking reflects the growing influence of Islam.
