Someone Must Pay the Debt

Since death was the payment due for sin
somehow that must be met,
for Yahweh could not retract His word,
Someone must pay the debt.

And only a man who was perfect
could pay a debt so huge,
God chose His Son to fill the bill,
to pay Him what was due.

Only a spotless Lamb would do,
and so the stage was set;
He shed His blood in agony,
our perfect safety net.

Then came Part 2 of the Father's great plan,
since His death had paid for sin;
so He raised Yahshua to life anew
so that man could live again.

Praise be to our precious risen Lord,
for what He did for you and me;
how He paid our debt forevermore,
as He bled on Calvary's tree.

Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain. Moreover we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified against God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied

(1 Corinthians 15:12-19)
